More Colour Reverse 35mm Film

This time I have processed some shots from earlier in the year when I did a modelling shoot with Bex. I shot a roll of film with her as well as using the 5D mk2. Recently I have had the films developed and I have done some minor editing but not loads as I want to keep the film feel to them.

35mm Film

Recently I started to shoot with my 35mm Pentax K1000 as a photographer who I assist gave me 8 rolls of expired film. The film went out of date in 2004 so its been gone a fair while and I was really looking forward to using them to see the colours and the grain, even though it was 100 ISO. So far I have shot 4 rolls, one in Sheffield when I went filming with H I D E O U T B M X, another when I did a photo shoot earlier in the year with Bex, one at a car show called Players 6.0 that was held in Essex and the last one when I went on holiday with my family to Northumberland and Edinburgh.

SuCasa

Sucasa is a new house/deep house/techno event that was starting up in Leicester in an underground location, I was contacted and asked to photograph the launch night as they had seen some of my club work and wanted to use me. I went down to the night and got shooting, using some different techniques and settings to usual as I wanted to show the grittiness of the location as well as taking the usual photos of the DJ's. Speak Easy Live at Basement

I got asked to photograph a jazz band at the Basement club/bar in Leicester two weeks ago, the band go  by the name of 'Don Quixote'. They are a 4 piece band and are very good with some nice songs as well as doing covers. Here are some of the photos from the night.

All Dubs Mega Meet

I attended a huge car meet over in Tamworth a few months back, it was held in a multi story car park and it was free entry and exit, as we pulled in there wasn't that many cars there but sure enough as time went buy the whole car park filled up with cars from all over the midlands. There was a great atmosphere and some really nice people there, old and young. Here are some photos from the event.

A Trip to Sheffield

Recently I have taken a trip to Sheffield for a day to go and ride my bmx and film some footage that we are collecting to make a video for the clothing brand called H I D E O U T B M X. I keep documenting all of my riding experiences as it's nice to look back on and remember, I used a roll of 35mm film on this trip also, the film expired in 2004 so it should give the colours a different look but I am yet to have that processed. As for now, here are my digital files.

New Software

Recently I have bought some new editing software called Capture One, it's a raw processing software. I bought it for a number of reasons one of the main ones being that all the professional photographers that I have assisted use it to edit their photos, this will help me as I will be able to get used to the software in my own time so if I am able to assist a photographer that needs digital assistance such as Jan Baldwin or Moy Williams just to name two who I have assisted before then I will be able to help them and that may lead onto better things. I am currently getting used to the software but it seems pretty easy to use and it has some great features. Here is some processing that I am doing on the By The Rivers single launch photos.

The Dirty Summer Meet

Earlier in the year I attended an automotive meet over in Coventry held by a group called Dirty Stancing. They have recently held another one called 'The Dirty Summer Meet' in the same place as last time, this time round there was some new cars and a larger turnout. They are trying to get the meet featured in a magazine such as Golf+ or Fast Car and I said that I would help by doing some photography for them seeing as I was going to be attending the meet anyway.

New Portraiture work

I have recently been working with Bex again as she needed some new photos to help boost her portfolio and I needed some for the same reason, so we got our heads together and thought that it would be pretty cool to do some in an abandoned building. We got to the location and it was all boarded up and pretty much locked down so we couldn't get in. However after looking around for a bit we found a way into a room that hadn't been locked up. I set up and we got to work, I enjoy working with Bex as she is a great model and really helpful when it comes to new ideas! Here are some of the photos that I produced from the shoot with her.
